The Hug

We don’t begin relationships with the thought that they will end, but even the best of relationships ends when someone passes away. I try to remind myself of this in all of my relationships, but I am a hopeless romantic, thinking that somehow, life will go on its merry way, forever and ever…until I run smacking face first into the brick wall of reality.

Staying in the Southwest

As I sat on the balcony, I looked at the trees and the mountains, and had one distinct thought: That being in the Southwest was now my life, and that New York was not going to be my life, for an unknown and indefinite period of time.
